Apple has approved an AI-powered chat app after ensuring that it had adequate moderation measures in place. The app, called “Mentor,” was developed by Indian tech start-up Bolo Indya and uses ChatGPT technology to provide personalized career guidance to users. The platform allows users to connect with industry experts and receive guidance on a variety of topics, including career development and interview preparation.

The approval of Mentor marks a significant milestone for Bolo Indya, which has been actively seeking to expand its offerings and user base. The company plans to use the Mentor app as a launching pad for additional services, including a platform for live tutoring and a career-focused social media network.

According to Bolo Indya founder and CEO Varun Saxena, the company worked closely with Apple to ensure that the Mentor app met the tech giant’s strict guidelines on content moderation. Saxena noted that the app has several built-in features that prevent the sharing of inappropriate or offensive content, including AI-based language filtering and a team of human moderators.

In addition to its moderation measures, Mentor also has robust privacy protections in place, including end-to-end encryption and strict data retention policies. The app is currently available for download on the Apple App Store, with an Android version slated for release in the coming weeks.
