Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is set to launch a new variant of its popular Scorpio SUV, the Scorpio Classic S5, in India. The new model is expected to hit showrooms in the coming weeks and will be priced lower than the current S5 variant. The Scorpio Classic S5 will come equipped with a 2.5-litre diesel engine that delivers 75 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque. It will be mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
The Scorpio Classic S5 will feature a retro design with a front grille inspired by the first-generation Scorpio. The car will ride on 16-inch steel wheels and will come with a basic set of features such as power steering, air conditioning, and central locking. The SUV will be offered in four colour options – Rocky Beige, Diamond White, Molten Red, and Napoli Black.
The Scorpio has been a popular SUV in India since its launch in 2002. It has undergone several updates over the years and has been offered in various variants. The new Scorpio Classic S5 is expected to appeal to customers who are looking for a no-frills SUV that offers good value for money. With the new variant, M&M aims to increase the Scorpio’s market share in the highly competitive SUV segment in India.
